Oil Painting World

I started oil painting many years ago after taking a class with an instructor in Crown Point, Indiana named Bob Barr. I painted off and on for several years but because of work commitments, I stopped in the mid-1980's.

Recently I have been watching some of the PBS video workshops of Bob Ross. Bob Ross had an an untimely death in 1995, but his work and painting techniques live on. Also his paints, brushes and other tools are widely available through many art dealers.

My biggest challenge was spending enough time to develop the craft with my rigorous work and global travel schedule. However, I have recently retired and expect to spend a lot more time on my painting.

My training has been primarily self-taught since that early oil painting class in 1975.

I actually practice using the style of Bob Ross. Most of these paintings are for sale, but a few are already owned by friends or family.

It sure gives me a sense of accomplishment to see them come to life in the style that Bob Ross taught for so many years.

All of these paintings are on pre-stretched 16" x 20" canvas.
